Thứ gì tan đã tan, vỡ đã vỡ; thứ gì đã hình thành trong mindset đã hình thành, tốt nhất là đừng cố gắng thay đổi để thay đổi mindset ấy, vì đơn giản mình ko như thế, mình ko cần phải thay đổi. Càng cố thay đổi, cố giải thích chỉ làm lòng thêm đau, nước mắt càng rơi.

Mỗi người chỉ được sinh ra 1 lần, và sống có 1 lần, vậy thì sao mà phải tự mình làm mình buồn, vì suy cho cùng, mình buồn hay ko là do tự mình cảm nhận, tự mình coi đó là nỗi buồn.
Đừng bao giờ tin vào lời hứa. Nghe và quên. Đừng tin để mà dày vò bản thân: “Sao ngày xưa anh hứa như thế, giờ lại khác”…

Và cũng đừng ảo tưởng và tham vọng rằng có thể giữ người đàn ông mình yêu bên cạnh mình đến hết cuộc đời. Cách duy nhất là phải học cách sống 1 mình, học cách yêu bản thân mình. Vì sao? Vì ảo tưởng thì sẽ tin tưởng 100% là như thế, biến thành 1 đứa idiot tin vào tình yêu bất diệt.

Recently I have been favoring black a lot, is it good or bad? Everything is subjective, good to one person and bad to another one. In the end people got into an argument about the differences of their personal values. I remember hearing people judge others, saying this one is bad, that one is good. I remember listening to them with an open ear, but then one day it just occurred to me that good or bad there’re always friends who would back them up anytime. Then how do you tell if one is good or bad? Based on their actions? Then are you sure you know what is really going on for them that you have the right to judge? No one knows what was going on in relationship between people. There’re things insiders know but outsiders don’t and vice versa. How can you tell? Or would you decide it based on their friends? Then what’d happen if their friends are people you personally think are good?

Exclusion vs. Inclusion

Thuy Vy and I had an interview with a man with no leg for his experience of being excluded and included in this society.
1.In what ways do you experience "exclusion" from society/ development?
- It's hard to say how, but I really can feel it. It's when Tet comes, and you don't have anything special. Everyone around you is going crazy, doing a bunch of things because it’s Tet, and I am just like always. It's a horrible feeling to experience. Also, people in "formal" places stare at me as if I am not meant to come to such places. I tried to buy "health insurance" for about 2 dollars/year, but the doctors in the hospital really treat people with insurance quite differently from those with money in their pockets. I am also not allowed to go on the bus when I want to travel somewhere.

2. In what ways do you experience "inclusion" (society/development)?

- I go around every day and am able to talk to people in the market. My younger brother is such a good person; he has been taking care of me since the beginning up until now.

3. Do you want different "development" or just a different path to the same development?

- People are building more places for the "upper class," I often think of such places as a golf course, than they are building parks; even in the city, where land is scarce. I think this approach should be changed. Land belongs to all Vietnamese people and there should be limited places where only some people can afford to go, especially when it's decided by the local authorities.

4. What sort of government policy/ program changes might increase your inclusion?
- I think education is the shortest way to enhance inclusion of the poor to the rest of society, simply just provide scholarships for only poor students or other opportunities for us to send our kids to school.

5. What sort of community/ NGO policy might increase your inclusion?

- I don't know much about NGOs.

Having 4 day off was really fun.

Last week, all UC students left HN for their Southern trip
and that meant I had Thursday off...

I have lots of good friends: Friends for taking photos, friends for shopping, friends for doing makeup, friends for chatting, and of course, friends for studying :))

The Sacrifice - Micheal Nyman

I love this soundtrack a lot!!!! I even play it whenever I'm in my room, whatever I'm doing.
It's so emotional that sometimes I have tears in my eyes. You can hear the song is played with an ancestral 19th century piano, an ancestral one.

The song, composed by a legend musician, Micheal Nyman, is a soundtrack of Jane Eyre movie, created by Charllotte Brontie. The movie is all about social criticism and malicious elements. Although it's not the most cheery one, it's great, especially the Music. It thoroughly entices me. The only thing is it always seems to end too soon. There is a second edition of The Sacrifice: The Heart Asks Pleasure First. It keeps a faster pace and does not hold any slow note at any point. Plus, it ends so abruptly that I feel something missing.

That's what exactly I'm feeling at the moment. I've got lots of things to do, but I haven't done anything successfully. I'm so scared of the time, it keeps passing and I'm growing older, yet I haven't been truly mature.

Week 5: autobiography

I have been feeling stressed out these days.

I don’t know whether I am on the right track.

Where will I lead my life to?

I don’t want to meet a bunch of people these days.

I just want to stay alone, think about myself and what I am about to do.

Everything seems to be beyond my control.

I did my tests and presentations well but I didn’t feel satisfactorily.

I’m in a daze.

My mind goes blank.

I’m stuck when I think of anything.

My head is spinning.

Plus, my ex is an evil.

There’s nothing left to try.

There’s no more heart to bruise.

There’s nothing worth more than a goodbye.

When I’m talking to people, it’s not me, it’s the voice of someone else…

I’m broken down…

I’m demotivated…

I’m losing control of myself…

I’m mentally cutting off myself from the rest of the world…

I’m keeping a fade-away picture of “real” me…

After all, who will be right beside me?

Week 4: autobiorgraphy

It’s been a long time I haven’t blogged. It’s not I was lazy but primarily because I was so involved in lots of things. I had to prepare for 2 presentations and 3 tests in only one week. I couldn’t think of anything else other than my projects and my tests. I spent most of my time on my assignments and did almost everything in the projects. But I got high return on my diligent work.

Next week, I will have 2 more tests. This semester everything seems a bit messy. I can’t get my mind concentrated on the thing I’ve been doing. I think, and I guess, I’ve got bombarded with my education. I haven’t found my passion for studying yet. And as my rule if I do not hold passion for something, I can’t do it well. Education is not an exception.

The saddest thing happened last week was I got an accident. A motorbike went out of control and crashed into the back of mine. So I couldn’t attend the class. It was so bad. However I still keep track of what’s going on in the class. I joined Scott’s group working on Agent Orange issue in Vietnam. That’s fine but sometimes he calls me on spot and I couldn’t make any adjustment immediately. That makes me a bit unpleased. He called me in the afternoon to go out to see a person working on Agent Orange in the evening. How could I follow him? He should have told me in advance that we’d have a meeting with her.

Last weekend was the time I was in a very relaxed and jolly mood. I visited Tien Giang and Dong Nai with my dad. I love spending time exploring new things. And I love navy fingernails, too. That’s not my favorite color, but I tend to have my fingernail color reflected my emotion. When my feelings are running high, I would like to paint strong colors. When I’m in peace, light colors will fit me.

Next month, I’m going to have another trip to the south. So excited J

I’m craving for some new music at this moment and I’m listening to the type of music I don’t listen to often, that’s Tuan Hung – Duy Manh album. It’s so dull. I still wonder how people can understand and sense it strongly. It holds through my eyes a negative attitude toward life and would destroy people’s soul.

It’s time for me to work on my goals. I go to my martial art class on Monday, Wednesday and Friday; on Tuesday and Thursday, I have group study with my friends. It sounds freaky to have education time on Friday night, isn’t it? But now I really want to do something good for myself, I have been too lazy for such a long time.

3rd autobiography

I’m so excited with my new hair style. It’s not easy to realize it as I had my hair dyed only at the back. Only when I tie up, do others see the red color covering on my hair. Thank Diane!!!

This week I have done a presentation on Military Bank. Thank God, I’ve got 9.5!!! I hadn’t thought of 9.5 before since I didn’t pay much attention to this speech.
Next week, I have 2 presentations to do, 1 about Military Bank’s audited Financial Statements, the other about the Incoterm 2000. I’ve extremely got angry on my Int’l Payment group member. I knew that I wouldn’t get along well with them as we were leading different lifestyles, yet I still wanted to give us the second chance. I did think of changing my International Payment class. The only thing makes me hesitate is the administrative procedure in the faculty.

Maybe this semester I do not have competitive advantage as I had in previous terms. In Bank Management Class, I can’t obtain anything as the lecturer herself is pretty dry. The way she gives the lectures is absolutely boring and easy to make us fall into sleep. In International payment class, I do not cooperate well with some of my group members. In Corporate Finance class, we have to suffer a terribly flinty lecturer. Anyway, as life gets tougher, I’ll be more mature, I’ll be hard - bitten. Hindrance would be my foe. I’m sick of those annoying things, at least on these days!!!

I’m a sucker for fraudulence’s charm, aren’t I? But I won’t let him win this time and from this moment on..

This week I will be a good girl. I’ll stay at home and do all the homework. Pray for me, hehe.

An NGO - EMWG

I used to work for an NGO on HIV/AIDS issue in Vietnam, and I have already owned basic knowledge and information about HIV/AIDS issue in Vietnam. As I always want to challenge myself with streams of brand new things, I decided not to choose HIV/AIDS Technical Working Group, but rather an NGO working on other issue so that I can obtain more knowledge and experience. I kept searching on Water Supply and Sanitation working group, Child Rights Working Group, and other working groups I’m interested on, but they seemed to provide us only general information. The websites are poor and not well developed. I barely found any useful information. Luckily, I grasped at Ethnic Minorities Working Group which has already caught my eyes. In spite of underdeveloped website, I still made my choice working on Ethnic problem since I love exploring different world, different persons, plus I always wish to see people from different culture.

To my knowledge, Vietnam has very big population which ranked the third in Asian, and the thirteen in the world. Its density of population is pretty high and unevenly distributed. Millions of people desire to settle in delta regions but there is only a small amount of people dwell in remote areas. Those people predominantly are minorities.

Minority population can be categorized as the group with little or even no academic learning. The Government has many attempts to invest in minority villages but the results are not as expected. One of the arguments can be the facility system is underdeveloped that makes it hard for people to learn. The second account is that they are so hard up that they have to work to earn money to make ends meet. “We do not have enough food to survive, how can we afford to go to school?” That’s the question they ask themselves as well as local governments when they are forced to attend classes. In addition, no teacher wants to come to remote areas to work as the salary is quite low and there is no entertaining activity there as there are in big cities.

Maybe due to their lack of academic learning, minority groups still maintain unsound customs. They get married when they are quite young, even at the age is prohibited by the law, many women are absolutely becoming young mothers. As a consequence, poverty and difficulties still exist in these families. There should have been more backward ritual activities and folkways, yet I can’t dig inside my mind more deeply to remember them.

Although the majority of folkways is weird, some of them are positively extraordinary. They have lots of special traits. I really appreciate the community life they lead. Nowadays, there are many culture villages everywhere, but somehow those villages are being modernized since they are designed for the purpose of serving tourists. They are kind of being commercialized. I can realize the gap because I myself had an opportunity to visit real villages as well as purposely-built villages.

There is a pressing problem in the Northern Vietnam. Lots of places in which minority people are living entail valuable natural resources. However, the infrastructure and facilities are so lagging that local people find it hard to make use of the land they are living on. That’s one of the reasons why there is a trend in exodus of Northern minority groups to the South. As a result, thousands of villages are left empty.

The Manor - little Europe

In response to a discussion about the urban development, we had a field trip to The Manor, a magnificent Europe in Hanoi. It’d be your pride if your family owns an apartment in the Manor as it is the dream land of every Hanoiian.

The Manor was one of the first luxurious residential complexes that have been built in Hanoi. That has set a new living standard for the upper class in the capital of Vietnam as a result of urban development. However, living in one of those complexes such as The Manor is not all good. Many traditional values retained in hundreds of years by Vietnamese people have been disappeared in that small community. It is a prosperous and splendid yet isolated community. I have a feeling that the architects and the owners of the place and residents living there believe that the Manor is different from the rest of Hanoi. Even outside the Manor, on the other side of the streets, there is still rubbish laying on the sidewalks.

My first impression on the Manor is its strict security guards as they were the barrier to access to this glorious site. They said: “This area is not a tourist attraction, you can’t get in to take photos or visit without permission”, and prevented us from entering the Manor. We tried to get in at several gates and we got the same response from them. I was so frustrated and tetchy. However, those trials helped us realize that if we went separately or we looked like foreigners, we could make our way easily. Then, we divided our group into two subgroups, each explored different parts of the Manor. I asked some security guards about the Manor and they gave us some useful information about the superb complexes. A lot of Koreans and Japanese are living in those luxurious apartments, not Vietnamese. There is even a supermarket for Koreans, the K-mart. There is also a kindergarten for foreign kids only. However, the ownership right does not belong those foreigners, they are just tenants. It is a popular trend in Vietnam that wealthy and highly – ranked people in society buy houses in nice places and leave it for rent. The Manor is one of those places. I visited the Garden, too. It was so boring, it’s like a shopping mall but there wasn’t much inside.

I know that it is forbidden to visit the Manor and I have never tried to. This time, I had an opportunity to try to get inside the community to grasp an overview of it. But it wouldn’t be comprehensive because I did not know how real residents were living there. The entire way was quite tiring as I felt like melting in the heat of Hanoi, but frankly, it was fascinating.

The Manor, on one hand, is a very majestic location. On the other hand, it is breaking Hanoi culture, customs and values. Built in the centre of Hanoi, The Manor was designed as French architecture. The Manor lacks Hanoi special traits. If I were the developer, I would arrange it as a well-equipped but ancient area. I love to see the old Hanoi, nowadays, it’s not easy to gain an experience of sitting on “xich lo” and having sightseeing around the city with tranquility. You can get on a “xich lo” without a doubt, but you have to wear mask while having sightseeing, otherwise you’ll breathe in and out polluted air. I remember six or seven years ago, on a one gloomy day, my friends and I went to go around the city centre by “xich lo”. It was so peaceful. Fortunately, there weren’t a bunch of people gathering, waves of motorbike blowing on the streets, like today. Hanoi today is like a chaotic place. Hanoians are in between. However, in order to reach the development goal, we have to sacrifice and accept the challenges as well as the consequences of development.

My plan for the next four months

I love setting goals. I do love it.
Yet I have trouble in making my goals come true. I know my weakness and I have been trying my best to fix it, but it seems too hard. The primary reason is I fall into sleep without difficulty and I love love love sleeping, I love spending on my bed and having nice dreams. Sometimes I nag at myself but it seems helpless. My parents frustratingly say: “spend all your lifetime sleeping, you don’t need to do anything anyelse!!!”. I want my friends to help me cope with this situation. I think I myself can’t fix it. This term I have 5 missions as I mentioned earlier in my first autobiography. However, I think I would change one of them.
Mission #1: Live well without my boyfriend.
Mission #2: Hang out more with my best friends
Mission #3: Get a high score in a test this November.
Mission #4: Use every cell of my brain to understand what C programming is.
Mission #5: Close my eyes and definitely relax.

2nd autobiography

This is the first week of the semester. This term I will take 5 classes: Int’l Finance, Corporate Finance, Int’l Payment, Bank Management and Vietnamese society in transition. I’m thinking of taking one more class (Business Communication) as many say that it’s pretty useful and easy to get high score. Plus, after skimming through the textbook, I figured out that it was quite interesting. These next 4 months would be my hardship ever, though. I need straight A to please my ambition as well as my transcript.

My first week back to school doesn’t have many things to say. Actually, I don’t like the way the professor of Bank Management and Corporate Finance teaches and treats us. She speaks English terribly. Trying to understand what she says is the centre of the problem. In addition, she always expects us things she never does. She asks us to come to class on time, but she doesn’t. Why the professor has that kind of privilege? It isn’t fair. Up to now, the only class seems to appeal me is Int’l Payment.

I’m so sad to find out that a friend of mine takes me for granted. He’s such a clever guy. He merely calls me just when he needs me. Sometimes I just want to neglect him but I don’t want to be rude to him. Well, how would I treat him from this moment on? I see an arrogant trait in his personality, occasionally. But he wisely knows how to bury it inside. Sometimes he makes me feel that he trusts me, he wants to share part of his secrets with me. He calls me on the spot to have coffee, to eat, to hang out with him. I hate it. Never would I accept his invitation again unless he informs me in advance. `Who the hell he thinks he is??? He thinks who I am??? I guess the best thing I can do at this moment is to stay away from him. But I don’t care much about that, he’s just one of my normal friends, just forget him and everything he’s done to me. That would be good for him and me.

I’m pretty sensitive. I keep my secrets inside my mind. Even small things would make me think of lots of things. Honestly, these days I’ve been sad about my boyfriend. He promises me a lot, yet he does little. I don’t know whether to trust him anymore. I don’t care what other people are saying about him or his rumor, but after I myself have witnessed what he'd done recently, I don’t think I should keep having faith in him. Even though I felt guilty when I foraged around his emails, it’s better to protect myself from falling down before he kicks me out of his life. I knew what he was doing behind my back. It was a clumsy moment for me. I’ve never been nasty like this. I didn’t know what to do, I quietly sat on the desk starring at the laptop. In the world of lies, he is the best liar!!! I don’t want to let him know. I don’t want us to be in quarrels. We had enough fights. I’m tired of argument, of thinking of him. I pretend that there is nothing happen. However those messages brought us apart without question. They were not the only reason, but rather the motivation for me to see his real personality. I don’t want to talk to him, to see him anymore. I think I’ll go single!!!

Yeah, a long distant relationship needs trust. But that’s not enough. I need to know who he is. Who can guarantee that he’s not changing when he’s living in a different world? Ok, I let him do what he wants. He always tells me that “I’m living in the US but I’m not Americanized, I’m still a Vietnamese”. But I have had a sense that he’s Americanized gradually. There’s nothing wrong with being Westernized, but can he just stop saying that “I’m still a REAL Vietnamese guy”, “I promise I will do this, I will do that”, and then behind my back, he’s behaving differently from what he promises? “Just keep chatting with your friends, flirting other girls… to have more fun, more memories before you’re dead as you wish, honey!” It’s stupid to totally trust in boys’ words. I’ve stumbled to form this relationship. I just want to take my mind off these frustrating things. That's why I'm engrossing myself in hanging out with my friends.

Luckily, I have many friends around me. I have spent most of my time hanging out with UC students. It is really funny and amazing. Last Friday, we visited the Friendship Village. It’s 4 or 5 years I haven’t joined in that kind of activities. The last time I went to the Friendship Village was when 6 years ago. The Village has changed a lot, compared to it was 6 years ago. It was such a worthwhile event to attend. And then we walked around the Night Market, I helped them bargain. It was wonderful. Bargaining is a must if you want to buy things in Vietnam. Without bargaining, you will have to buy it at an unreasonable price. The next day some UC students with me kept on shopping. I felt sorry for Chanh and Yuan, they had to wait for girls to buy things without complaining  My happy Saturday stopped at the Guest house. We also had a really really lovely night there. We talked a lot, played horsy, killer (it’s different from what I’m playing) and bull-shit. Maybe I’m not good at the bull-shit game )) no one believed me =)) Mindy said that I had to try more to be a good liar =)) I still remember the way Chanh dealt with his blotchy body (because he drank a lot). He's so cute :)) We slept at 2:30 and got up at 9:35 to go to the Museum of Vietnam Ethnology. So tired!!! Then again, we walked around the Old quarter to eat.

I love spending my time with them. I know that we’ve just become friends for quite a short time, but they are all nice and cute. Miss you guys, wish that I could stay with you.

PS: I’m in a quarrel with my boyfriend.

First autobiography

Hmm, how will I start my blog? This is my completely new blog page as I lost my account and password of the old one. It's hard for me to write everything about me just in one-time blogging.

I was born in Bulgaria. For years, I have always wanted to come back to my birthplace. Actually, I'd love to travel to a lot of countries as long as their landscapes are fantastically beautiful.

I adore perfectionism. I like circle shape since we have to draw it without carelessness in order to have a true circle. I always want everything to be perfect. I know it's not easy but it's not impossible. Yeah, I believe that the most important thing in life is to consider nothing impossible. If we see it impossible, then it will be impossible, otherwise, if it is possible to us, then it will.

In this changing world, I know it's hard to be perfect, but I will try to be perfect as much as I can. What does perfect mean to me? First of all, I'd love to do everything flawlessly. Of course, I need to put a lot of my efforts into those stuffs. Secondly, I am a Vietnamese girl, and I want to be a purely modern Vietnamese girl: multitasking, passionate, smart but still elegant girl. I want to preserve my Vietnamese perspectives. That's what I want my friend, who is studying in the US, to become. It's not an easy task to do, though. Living in a hectic country makes lots of people change their lifestyle. If he won't change his perfect personality, he will fit my personality.

Tomorrow, I will have only one class to take, and I don't want to be late for the first class. It's so stupid to believe that if you are late or get 1 mark for the first class of the term, you will be failing for every exam of the semester. However, I still trust in it. There should be something for me believe, to dream, to dare, to be afraid so that I feel it would be easier to reach my goals.

This term I will set 5 missions for myself to complete, hope this will help:
Mission #1: To be on time for every class.
Mission #2: Hang out more with my friends.
Mission #3: Get a high score in a test this November.

Obituary of Micheal Jackson

As part of my homework, I had to read an obituary section from Economist Magazine and write something about it. I have to admit that this is my second time visiting this website. I have ignored it during a long time, but now I realize that I have wasted my precious time on other sites. The Economist is really fabulous.

I chose the obituary of Micheal Jackson because I could access to it without subscription. At first, I was about to write about Luciano Pavarotti yet the article was limited only to subscribers. It's such a pity that I couldn't have a blog about him. Among free articles, there is only one about Micheal Jackson I could leave comments on. I don't know much about other people, some I haven't even heard of. Then I immediately decided to choose Micheal Jackson.

For sure, he is not my idol. I'm just interested in only one of his songs, Heal the world. I know if I say that "I don't like Micheal Jackson", millions of his fans will kill me but I don't want to be a liar, to tell people that "Ha, I love MJ, I love his songs, I'm crazy for him...". I'm neutral, I don't adore him, nor hate him.

However, my choice of Micheal Jackson isn't too bad, huh? He changed the world of pop music that makes me really really appreciate him. And the most adorable impression he left in my mind is his passion for his career. When I saw him dancing and singing on the stage, I was seeing the spirit of the song and his love for the song. That was one of the reasons why he's such famous. Millions of his albums were bought around the world. Lots of people are affected by him. They sing his songs, they dance like him, they wear what their idol put on... The only thing makes a gap between him and me is that he changed his skin color. I can't bear if a person rejects his origin. He even chose white skin for his children. There are a lot of Black men and they are well-known, such as Martin Luther King, John Hope Franklin...

Although he's dead, his songs are still alive, especially the song Heal the world. He contributed a large part in making people change attitude toward Black men, in changing the world music path, in affecting millions of people.
